WEEK 1:  CARE OF COMPUTER HARDWARE

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. List ways of taking good care of input devices.
  2. Mention ways of taking good care of output devices.

WEEK 2: REASONS FOR TAKING CARE OF COMPUTER

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate ways of taking good care of computers.
  2. Mention ways of taking care of computer.

WEEK 3: THE COMPUTER KEYBOARD   I

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Identify sections of the keyboard.
  2. Recognize the different sections of the keyboard.

WEEK 4: THE COMPUTER KEYBOARD   SECTION II

Sub –Topics:

  • Arrow keys.
  • Special character.
  • Alt, shift, control keys.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Recognize the arrow keys
  2. Identify special keys

WEEK 5: THE COMPUTER KEYBOARD   SECTION III – FUNCTIONAL KEYS

Sub –Topics:

  • Functional keys.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Recognize the functional keys.
  2. Identify space bar.
  3. Recognize enter key.

WEEK 6:  APPLICATIONS OF COMPUTER KEYBOARD I

Sub –Topics:

  • Load word processor.
  • Practices entering data with keyboard.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Use the keyboard to enter data into the system.
  2. Identify special character keys.

WEEK 7: APPLICATIONS OF COMPUTER KEYBOARD II

Sub –Topics:

  • Using backspace
  • Using arrow keys

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Use backspace key to delete character.
  2. Use arrow key to move cursor up, down, left, and right between documents.

WEEK 8: APPLICATIONS OF COMPUTER KEYBOARD III

Sub –Topics:

  • Using return
  • Using Cap lock keys

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Use the return key to move the cursor to the next line.
  2. Use Caps lock key to cause the character a – z to be written in capital letter A – Z.

WEEK 9: THE COMPUTER MOUSE

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to Define:

  1. Identify different parts of the mouse.

WEEK 10:  APPLICATION OF THE MOUSE I

Sub –Topics:

  • Left click
  • Right click
  • Scroll ball

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate the use of left and right button of the mouse.

WEEK 11: APPLICATION OF THE MOUSE II

Sub –Topics:

  • Double click
  • Drag operation

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

  1. Demonstrate double click and drag operation.

WEEK 12: REVISION

WEEK 13: EXAMINATION
