TOPIC: Uses of simple machine (blender)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. identify a blender.

2. state the uses of a blender.

CONTENT: Use of a blender.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides pupils to identify a blender by showing picture of a blender.

2. Leads them to know its uses by demonstration.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: Identify a blender and state the uses of blender.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Pictures of a blender.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: state what a blender is used for.

WEEK 2

TOPIC: Uses of wheelbarrow.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. identify a wheelbarrow.

2. state the uses of a wheelbarrow.

CONTENT: Uses ofwheelbarrow.

 a. To carry farm product.

b. To carry heavy loads.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides pupils to identify a wheelbarrow.

2. Leads them to know what it is used for.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Identify a wheelbarrow.

2. Say the uses of wheelbarrow on the farm.

TOPIC:  Uses of head pan.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:  Pupils should be able to:

1.identify a head pan.

2.state the uses of a head pan.

CONTENT: Uses of head pan.

2.Leads them to know its uses on the farm.

TOPIC:  Uses of hoe

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:  Pupils should be able to:

1. identify a hoe.

2. state the uses of hoe on the farm.

CONTENT:

1. Uses of hoe.

2. For digging the soil

b. For making ridges etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides pupils to identify a hoe.

2. Leads them to know the use of hoe by demonstrating how it is used.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Identify a hoe as a simple machine.

2. Say how hoe is used.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

WEEK 6

TOPIC:  The uses of mortar and pestle.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. identify a mortar and pestle.

2. state the use of mortar and pestle

3. colour pictures of mortar and pestle.

CONTENT:

1. Uses of mortar and pestle

a. For pounding yam.

b. for pounding palm-nut etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides pupils to identify mortar and pestle.

2. Leads them to know the uses of mortar and pestle.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Identify mortar and pestle.

2. Say what mortar and pestle is used for.

2. colour pictures of mortar and pestle.

WEEK 7

TOPIC: Uses of scissors.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. identify a pair of scissors.

2. mention the uses of scissors.

CONTENT: Uses of scissors.

a. For cutting piece of clothe etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides them to identify a pair of scissors.

2. Demonstrates how scissors is used by cutting a piece of cloth with a pair of scissors.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Identify a pair of scissors.

2. Cut a piece of cloth with bare hands and then with a pair hands and then with a pair of scissors and describe their experience.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Real object of a pair of scissors.

2. cloth

pair scissor.

WEEK 8

TOPIC:  The uses of pressing iron.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. identify a pressing iron.

2. state what it is used for.

CONTENT: Use of pressing iron (to make cloth smooth).

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides pupils to identify pressing iron.

2. Leads them to know what it is used for.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Identify a pressing iron.

2. Say what it is used for.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Chart showing a pressing iron.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: say what iron is used for.

WEEK 9

TOPIC:  The safe use of simple machine in the school.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to: use simple machines in a safe way in school.

CONTENT: The safe use of simple machines in school.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: Demonstrates how to safely use simple machines in school.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: Identify dangers in the use of simple machines in the school.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Textbook.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: demonstrate how to use some simple machine in the

school safely.

WEEK 10

TOPIC:  The safe use of simple machine in the

home.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: use simple machines in a safe way at home.

CONTENT:  The safe use of simple machines in the home.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: Demonstrates how to safely use simple machines in the Home.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: Identify dangers in the use of simple machines in the home.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Textbook.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: demonstrate how to use simple machines

in at home safely.

WEEK 11: REVISION
