As humans, we need to know various ways of controlling weeds.

Weeds can be controlled by using the following methods

  • Cultural method of Weed Control: making use ofClose planting can be used when planting crops to reduce the growth of weed. Planting of cover crop is used to control weeds because they cover every available space.so that there won’t be space for the weed to grow. Mulching can also be used to prevent light from getting to weed seeds and prevents growth.
  • Biological method of weed control: by releasing bio agent like insect, nematode, fungi, or bacteria to a weed-infested area and allowing the agent to attack the weeds. Also the use of animals.
  • Mechanical method of  Weed Control: it can be accomplished through hand pulling, hoeing, digging or mowing
  • Chemical method of weed control:  by using herbicides, like glyphosate to eliminate common weed plants.
