TOPIC: Local games (skills)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: perform some local games.         

CONTENT: Local games.

–              Do as I do.

–              Clap over your head.

–              Who is in the garden etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Demonstrates to pupils.

2. Observes pupils and give assistance.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Pupils observe teacher’s demonstration.

2. Pupils practice the skills.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE: Playground.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: perform local games.

WEEK 2

TOPIC: Basic skills in basketball I

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: mention two basic skill in basket ball.  

CONTENT: Basic skills in basket ball e.g. passing and bouncing.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:  Demonstrates the basic skills e.g. passing and bouncing.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1.Observe teacher’s demonstrations.

2.Practices the skills taught.

3.Observe pupils and assists them.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

1.            Playground

2.            Pictures

3.            Textbooks.

4.            Balls.

5.            Whistle.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: name two basic skills in basket ball.

WEEK 3

TOPIC: Basic skills in basket ball II

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: mention some of the basic skills in basket ball game.                                                                                                                

CONTENT: Basic skills in basket ball game e.g. throwing and catching.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: Demonstrates the basic skills e.g. throwing and catching.

1.Observe teacher’s demonstration.

2.Practice the skills taught.

Leads pupils to mention safety rules.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: Lists safety rules.

Pupils to: state 3 safety rules.

WEEK 5

TOPIC: Swimming I basic skills

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: mention the basic skills in swimming

Explains the basic skills in swimming.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

States the basic skills in swimming.
