WEEK 1:

SPEECH WORK – Maintaining objects according to colour and shapes.

SOUNDS AND LETTERS: production of basic sounds in given words correctly e.g. /e/b/d/.

VOCABULARY – new words

READING: introduction of basic reading skills.

STRUCTURE: Asking about the number of objects with the question form.

WRITING – Making strokes and curves to form more letters as covered in the previous term.

WEEK 2:

SPEECH WORK – pronunciation of u, v, w words.

SONGS AND RHYMES: Sing songs taught and recite rhymes.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: The sounds I hear.

STRUCTURE: Animal Sound.

WRITING – Making strokes and curves to form more letters.

WEEK 3:

SPEECH WORK – Expressing gratitude and farewell.

SIMPLE GREETINGS AND COMMANDS: Differentiate between tones in greetings and commands.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: Song on habitual actions.

STRUCTURE: Habitual Actions in the simple present tense.

WRITING – Writing of words that begins with u, v, and w.

WEEK 4:

SPEECH WORK – Pronunciation practice e.g. “Th” e /ɵ / and /’t’ /t/ as in ‘thank’/tank’.

IDENTIFICATION: Identify self, family member’s e.g. father, mother, brother and sister etc.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: Days of the week.

STRUCTURE: continuous actions.

WRITING – Word formation.

WEEK 5:

SPEECH WORK – Pronunciation practice e.g. “Th” e / ɵ / and /’t’ /t/ as in ‘thank’/tank’.

EXPRESSION POSSESSION: Using the possessives my, yours, his, hers, in simple correct sentences – this is my pen; this is is /her pen.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: Days of the week.

STRUCTURE: continuous actions.

WRITING – Word formation.

WEEK 6:

SPEECH WORK – A. B. C. Song.

EXPRESSING GRATITUDE AND FAREWELL: when we receive gift etc.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: Familiar part of the Body.

STRUCTURE: Word Formation (fill in the missing letters).

WRITING – formation of letters of the alphabets (continued).

WEEK 7:

SPEECH WORK – Matching letters of the alphabet with pictures.

ASKING AND ANSWERING QUESTIONS: Ask simple questions using ‘what’.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: Label reading.

STRUCTURE: Expressing past actions.

WRITING – formation of letters of the alphabets (continued).

WEEK 8:

SPEECH WORK – Pronunciation practice e.g.. Days of the week.

VOCABULARY – New words

READING: Label reading.

GRAMMAR: Introducing nouns and pronouns..

WRITING – formation of letters of the alphabets (continued).

WEEK 9:

SPEECH WORK – what can I eat and cannot eat.

GRAMMAR: Singular and plural..

WRITING – writing of numbers 11 -20 in words.

WEEK 10:
