WEEK 1

TOPIC: Joining the three letter word

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. join three letter words.

2. read the words.                                                                                                   

CONTENT:Three letter words pronouncing three letter words with vowels signs e.g.       

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Writes the alphabets on the chalkboard.

2. Uses flash card to guide pupils to recognize the alphabets.

3. Guides pupils to write alphabets.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Listen to the teacher’s explanation.

2. Pronounce the alphabets.

3. Identify the letters.

4. Write the letters.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

1. A cardboard on which the alphabets are boldly written.

2. Flashcards

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1. pronounce the Arabic Alphabets correctly.

2. identify each of the alphabets.

3. write the alphabets correctly.

WEEK 2

TOPIC: Suratul Kafiran

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupil should be able to:

recite the Arabic text of suratul kafiran.                                                             

CONTENT: The Arabic text, its transliteration.

 

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: 1 Recites the sumah.

2. Says the words repeatedly.

 

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Read after the teacher’s.

2. Recite in group and individually.

3. Repeat the difficult words.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

Recorded sumah on Cassette, video cassette and C.D.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1. RECITE suratu kafiran correctly

2. learn by heart suratu kafiran

WEEK 3

TOPIC: Translation

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

read the meaning or translation of suratu kafiran.                                            

CONTENT:

 1. The translation of the surah

2. Numbers of its verses

 

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Recites the meaning of the sumah.

2. Explains the sumah.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: 1. Read after the teacher.

2. Read the meaning of the surah.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE: Recorded sumah on

cassette, video cassette and C.D

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1. read the meaning of the sumah.

2. mention four number of verses.

WEEK 4

TOPIC: Salatul-jammah (congregational prayer)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to

1. define the word Salatul – Jammah.

2. state the importance of congregational prayer.                                              

CONTENT:

1. Definition of salaatu-Jammah Hadith to supart e.g. The prophet said:

“Prayer said in congregation is by 27 or 25 time better than –prayer alone”.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Defines the term Salat.

2. Explains the importance of praying congregationally.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Listen to:

1. the teacher’s explanation.

2. define salat

3. state ehte importance of congregational prayer.

WEEK 5

TOPIC: Asma’ullahil- Husmah (beautiful names of god)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:Pupils should be able to:

list or read the source of the beautiful names of God (Allah).                           

CONTENT:

-The Arabic text Their meaning e.g. Allahu- God.

-Ar- rahman – The beneficent.

-Ar – rahim – The merciful.

-Al – malik – The king.

-Al – Qudus – The holy.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.Tells the pupils the Arabic of the beautiful names.

2.Pronounces the names after the teacher one after the other.

3.Explains the beautiful ones.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1.Listen attentively to the teacher.

2.Pronounce the beautiful names after the teacher collectively and individually.

3.Mention the beautifulness.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

WEEK 6

TOPIC: As marulahil husmah (beautiful names of allah)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

recite the text of the beautiful names of Allah as selected with their meaning in English.       

CONTENT:

The transliteration of beautiful names of Allah.

-Their English meaning e.g. As-salam – The source of peace.

-Al- mu’min’ The

guardian of faith.

-Al-Muahimiu- The protector.

-Al-Azeez – The mighty.

-Al – Jabbar – The compeller.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.Tells the pupils the Arabic of the beautiful names.

2.Pronounces the names after the teacher one after the other.

3.Explains the beautiful names.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1.Listen attentively to the teacher.

2.Pronounce the beautiful names after the teacher collectively or individually.

3.Mention the beautiful names.

 1.Definition of punctuality.

2.The need for punctuality.

3.Where punctualities are made (e.g. in prayers to schools.

1.Explains what punctuality is.

2.States the need for punctuality.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Listen to the teacher attentively and follow the discussions point by point.

TOPIC: Brief history of prophet Musa (A.S)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

relate the history of prophet Musa A.S.                                                               

CONTENT:

1.            Birth and childhood.

2.            Prophet hood of Musa.

3.            His relationship with Praroah.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

 1.Narrates the history of prophet Musa (A.S).

2.Helps pupils to identify the lessons in his history.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1.Listen to the history of prophet Musa (A.S).

2.Identify the lessons in the history of prophet Musa.

2.Lessons that can be derived from his life story.

2.Helps pupils to identify the lessons in his history.

3.Mentions the qualities of prophet Musa (A.S).

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

recite the Arabic text of suratul kawthar                                                            

CONTENT: The Arabic text Its translation.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.Recites the surah.

2.Recites the different words in the suah repeatedly.

3.Drills the pupils on reading.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:             

1.Recite after the teacher.

2.Recite in group.

3.Read individually.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

1.Recorded sinah on cassette.

2.Glorious Quran.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1.            recite smatul karthar.

2.            learn by heart smatul karthar.
