 MEANING OF FARM PROCESSING

It is the process of turning raw food into eatable food and other product.

The processes can be the following:

• Sun drying
• Peeling
• Milling
• Soaking
• Shelling
• Grinding
• Sieving
• Parboiling

PROCESS OF PROCESSING CASSAVA INTO GARRI

1. The farmer will harvest the cassava from his/her farmland.
2. The cassava tubers will peeled
3. Then the cassava will be wash and taken to a machine for grinding.
4. After grinding it.
5. It will be taken to another machine for removal of water.
6. After the removal of water
7. It will fried using heat(fire)
8. Then we will have garri

IMPORTANCE OF FOOD PROCESSING

1. It improve usage of food.
2. Improves food value
3. Removal of poisonous agents from the food.
4. Helps in storage of food
5. Provide employment
6. Provide source of income
7. It enables us to get different kinds of food from a farm produce.
8. It make transporting of produce easy.
