TOPIC: Moving our body parts I

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: demonstrate correct movement pattern of shooting and heading.                                                                                            

CONTENT: Movement pattern.

– Shooting and heading.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Explains and demonstrate the basic skills in shooting and heading.

2. Supervises and correct demonstration of pupils.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Listen to teacher’s explanation.

2. Observe teacher’s demonstration.

3. Practice the basic skill taught

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

1. Playground.

2. Balls

3. Talking the runs

4. Textbooks.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: perform the skill of shooting and heading.

WEEK 2

TOPIC: Moving our body parts II

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: perform basic movement such as bending, stretching.                                                                                                                

CONTENT: Movement pattern.

– Bending and stretching.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

 1. Demonstrate the skills involved in bending and stretching.

2. Supervises pupils and make corrections.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Listen to teacher’s explanation.

2. Observe teacher’s demonstration.

3. Practice the basic skills taught e.g. bending and stretching.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

1. Playground.

2. Balls.

3. Talking the rums.

4. Textbooks.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: perform the skill of bending and stretching.

WEEK 3

TOPIC: Safety rules in basic movement.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: identify safety rules in bending and stretching.        

CONTENT: Safety rules.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Assists pupils to list safety rules.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Pupils mention the safety rules.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

 1. Textbooks

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1. mention safety rules in shooting and bending.

2. mention safety rules in bending and stretching.

WEEK 4

TOPIC: Practice basic manipulative movement

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. Name two basic manipulative movement.

2. demonstrates the creative rhythm and movement.                                         

 

CONTENT: Manipulative movement pattern.

– Throwing

– Catching in pairs

– Creative rhythm and movement.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Explains and demonstrate the manipulative movement pattern.

2. Supervises and correct demonstration.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Practice manipulative pattern.

TOPIC: Dangers in basic movement

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: list three dangers in basic movement.   

CONTENT: Explains the dangers in basic movement.

Explains the dangers in basic movement.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

List dangers in basic movement.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: mention three dangers in basic

WEEK 6

TOPIC: Athletics I (short distance race)

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: perform 75 meters dash showing start, form and finish.                                                                                                                

CONTENT: 75 meters dash

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: Demonstrates – 75 meters dash showing start, form and finish.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1.Observe teacher’s demonstration.

2.Practice 75 meters dash.

TEACHING AND LEARNING RESOURCE:

1.Playground.

2.Video clips.

3.Flags (red and white).

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: perform 75 meters dash showing start, form and finish.

WEEK 7

TOPIC: Athletics II long jump

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: perform basic long jump skills.  

CONTENT: Long jump basic skills:

–              run up.

–              takeoff

–              flight

–              landing.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: . Demonstrates:

–              run up

–              take off.

–              flight

–              landing.

TOPIC: Safety rules in long jump

Leads pupils to mention safety rules.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: State safety rules

WEEK 9

TOPIC:  Health benefit of simple jumps

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: mention some benefits of simple jump.

Leads pupils to mention some benefit of jumping.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:
