WEEK 1: REVISION OF LAST TERM’S WORK

WEEK 2: RESPECT

  • Meaning of respect.

LESSON OBJECTIVES:  

Pupils should be able to:

  • Define respect with examples.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS

  • Picture of children in greeting elders.

WEEK 3: Ways of Showing Respect.

  1. Salutation/greeting e.g. bowing, kneeling, prostrating, etc.
  2. Running errands

LESSON OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

  • State at least three ways of showing respects.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS:

  • Charts of children greeting their elders in their localities.

WEEK 4: People to Respect

  • Parents
  • Elders
  • Teachers
  • Principal
  • Head teachers

LESSON OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

  • Define respect
  • List examples of people to be respected.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS:

  • Pictures of parents
  • Teachers
  • Head teacher etc.

WEEK 5: People to Respect

E.g. people who represent authorities like ministers, senators, governors, president, uniform men.

    LESSON OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

  • State examples of people to be rejected in the society.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS

  • A chart showing some citizens saluting the governor.

WEEK 6: Places to Respect

  • Government buildings e.g. offices
  • Banks
  • Law courts
  • National assembly etc.

    LESSON OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

  • List at least four places to be respected.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS

  • Pictures of government buildings e.g. national assembly, law courts, banks etc.

WEEK 7: Places to Respect

e.g

  • Church
  • mosque

    LESSON OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

  • Mention the religious places to be respected.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS:

  • Pictures of churches and mosque.

WEEK 8: Places to Respect

E.g. places of interest

  • the national museum
  • amusement park
  • national arts theartre

    LESSON OBJECTIVES:

Pupils should be able to:

  • List at least six places of interest.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS:

  • Charts showing pictures

WEEK 9: Things to Respect

  • The constitution
  • National flag
  • National anthem
  • The pledge

    LESSON OBJECTIVES:                                                                                                            

Pupils should be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to respect the national anthem and the national pledge.
  • Sing the national anthem and recite the national pledge.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS:

  • Pictures showing how to respect the national anthem and pledge

WEEK 10: Things to Respect (Continued)

  • The constitution
  • National flag
  • Nigeria currency
  • The mace

    LESSON OBJECTIVES:                                                                                                            

Pupils should be able to:

  • Demonstrate how to respect people places, time and things.

TEACHING/LEARNING RESOURCES/AIDS:

  • Pictures showing the constitution, national flag, Nigeria currency and the mace.

WEEK 11:   REVISION

WEEK 12:   REVISION

WEEK 13:   EXAMINATION
