DRAWING

Drawing is a representation of forms or objects on a surface by means of lines. It’s an illustration that is drawn by hand and published in a book, magazine, or newspaper.

Types of Drawings

Drawing are categories into three. These are

1. Nature Drawing: it is the process of drawing from natural objects both living and nonliving things such as birds, sea, wild life, plants and fruits. Sky, water, land formation.
2. Still Life Drawing: Still life drawing is the drawing of objects that cannot move (non-living things). They are called inanimate objects. That is they do not have life. Examples are chalk board, chair, desk, table, bag etc.
3. Life Drawing: it is the drawing of human figure. It involves the study of different parts of the body and how they are related to one another.

PRESENTATION

• The Teacher revises the previous lesson (Creating Music/ Sol-fa Notation Value).
• The Teacher introduces the topic: Drawing.
• He/she explains the meaning of drawing.
• He/she mention Types of Drawing.
• Teacher leads pupils to mention examples of different types of drawing.
• The pupils copy and submit their note for marking.

STUDENT ACTIVITIES:

• Draw and shade any natural object.
• Draw any part of your body.

EVALUATIVE ACTIVITIES

Instruction: Answer the following questions below.

• What is a drawing?
• Mention three types of Drawing.
• What is the difference between nature drawing and still life drawing?
• Give two examples each of natural objects and still life objects.

Conclusion:  Teacher summarizes the lesson, gives pupils note to copy, marks and makes corrections where necessary.
