  1. Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. ORAL AND WRITTEN COMPREHENSION ON PASSAGE READ
  3. SPEECH WORK – Learn sounds through songs.
  4. Simple commands at home and school.
  5. PICTURE READING –Wall chart sounds and words on the chart.

                                             WEEK 3

  1. Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. oral and written comprehension on passage read
  3. Using songs and rhymes to identify sounds.
  4. Learning simple commands at home and school.
  5. Writing of alphabets

                                             WEEK 4

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. Oral and written comprehension on passage read.
  3. Phonic – Pronounce consonants sounds in isolation.
  4. Picture reading of the classroom environment.
  5. Learning simple commands at home and school.
  6. Writing of alphabets.

                                             WEEK 5

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and reading.
  2. Oral and written comprehension on passage read.
  3. Differentiate between words in each pair.
  4. Phonic – Production of consonants sounds and words.
  5. Picture reading – charts, wall reading in the classroom.

                                      WEEK 6

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. Oral and written comprehension.
  3. Structure – Identification with emphasis on the articles a and an.
  4. Speech – Fluency – Reading of different kinds of book fluently.
  5. Reading different kinds of texts fiction and nonfiction.

                                      WEEK 7

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. Oral and written comprehension.
  3. Grammar – provide simple passage
  4. Provide simple passage on HIV/AIDs. Identification of keywords.
  5. Writing – Charts and picture reading, selected words to be written from the charts.

                                  WEEK 8

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and reading.
  2. Oral and written comprehension.
  3. Grammar – provide simple passage on drug abuse identification of keywords in the topic.
  4. Reading –selected word on the topic drug abuse.
  5. Writing of words from the charts key words on HIV/AIDS and drug abuse.

                                  WEEK 9

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. Oral and written comprehension.
  3. Speech – fluency Reading of different kinds of book, read with confidence, reading of different kind of texts fiction and non-fiction.
  4. Grammar – provide simple words on HIV/AIDs.
  5. Identification and writing of key words, charts and picture reading on key words on HIV/AIDS.

                                  WEEK 10

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and meaning.
  2. Oral and written comprehension.
  3. Speech – fluency Reading of different kinds of book, read with confidence, reading of different kind of texts fiction and non-fiction.
  4. Writing – charts and picture reading selected words on HIV/AIDS.

                                  WEEK 11

  1. Vocabulary building – Teaching of new words and reading.
  2. Oral and written comprehension passages, rhyme, stories and answer questions.
  3. Structure – Demonstrate, stories rhymes to pupils on the need to wash hand before eating.
  4. Speech – pronunciation of the keywords.
  5. Grammar – supplementary reader’s wall charts flash cards showing the keywords.
