TOPIC:  Description of a Computer               

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1.describe a computer.

2.draw a computer.

CONTENT: Description of computer.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Leads pupils to identify a computer.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: Identify a computer.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

Charts/pictures of computer.

EVALUATION GUIDE:  Pupils to:

1.describe a computer.

2.draw a computer.

WEEK 2

TOPIC: Parts of a Computer.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1.name parts of a computer.

2.identify computer parts.

CONTENT: Parts of a computer:

i.              monitor.

ii.             keyboard.

iii.            system unit.

iv.           mouse

v.            printer.

vi.           speakers.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.Arranges computer parts on a table.

2.Provide the pictures of computer parts and guides pupils to match the pictures with the real objects.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Touch and identify the mouse, monitor, printer and speaker.

3.name the types of monitor.

CONTENT:

1.The monitor.

2.Description of a monitor

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Displays the pictures of the monitor and guides pupils to match the pictures with the real objects.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Identify and match pictures of the monitor with real object

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

Charts showing the monitor.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1.what is a monitor.

2.describe the features of a monitor.

3.name the two types of monitor.

 

WEEK 4

TOPIC:  Functions of the Monitor.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:  Pupils should be able to:

1.state the function of the monitor.

2. state the difference between a monitor and a television.

CONTENT: Functions of the monitor.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.Guides pupils to know the functions of the monitor.

2.Guides them to distinguish between a monitor and a television.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Look and tell the difference between a monitor and a television.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1.Pictures of a monitor.

2.Pictures of a television.

EVALUATION GUIDE:Pupils to:

TOPIC:  Functions of the Alphabetic and Numeric Keys.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1.list the function of alphabetic keys.

2.name the numeric keys on a keyboard.

3.list the function of the numeric keys.

CONTENT: 

1.Function of alphabetic keys (Aa-Zz).

2.Function of numeric keys (0-9).

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.       Guides pupils to know, identify and state the functions of alphabetic keys.

2.        Guides pupils to know, identify and state the functions of the numeric keys.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1.Identify the alphabetic keys and its function.

2.Identify the numeric keys and its function.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Keyboard.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Ask pupils to:

1.list the functions of alphabetic keys.

2.give five examples of the upper and lower case letters.

3.state the functions of the numeric keys.

WEEK 7

TOPIC: System Unit.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to: describe a system unit.

CONTENT:

2.Description of the system unit.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Describes the system unit with the aid of pictures.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Observe pictures of a system unit and listen to the

description.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

Pictures of a system unit.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: describe a system unit.

WEEK 8

TOPIC: Components Of System Unit

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1.state the component of system unit.

2.state the functions of each of the components of the system unit.

3.state the full meaning of the following.

(i) CPU (ii) RAM

CONTENT:

1.C.P.U

2.RAM

3.DISK DRIVE

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1.Leads pupils to know the components of the system unit.

2.Leads them to know their functions and their full meaning.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Listen attentively to their teacher.
