OUTDOOR RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES
Outdoor Recreational activities are learning activities carried out within or outside one’s environment during free time. It could be within the school premises, in the forest, bus, beach, riverside, mountains etc. it can be called a camping programmes.

- It helps to see nature at first hand.
- It helps to learn and acquire skills in outdoor recreational craft.
- It provides fun and enjoyment.
- It leads to social integration

TYPES OF CAMPING Activities
- School camping: organize for children within the school or outside the school.
- Religious camping:
- Youth camping: organize by associations like boys’ brigade, Boy Scout, girl guilds.

- Sport activities like swimming, basketball, volley ball etc.
- Social activities like singing, music, drama, debate, radio plays.
- Creative arts and crafts such as pottery, wood carving, oil painting, cardboard, sculpture.
GUIDELINES FOR ORGANIZING OUTDOOR EDUCATION PROGRAMMES
FOR CHILDREN
- Ensure the environment to be used is safe and healthy.
- Includes different educative learning experience
- Matured and experience personnel must be involved
- Take permission from parents, school authority and the various institutions concerned.
- Prepare adequately before going out
- The purpose of the programmes must be clearly specified.

- The Teacher introduces the topic (OUTDOOR RECREATION ACTIVITIES).
- The Teacher explains the lessons.
