WEEK 1

TOPIC: Speakers.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. describe a speaker.

2. identify features of a speaker.

CONTENT:

1. Description of a speaker.

2. Features of a speaker.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Guides them to identify a speaker as part of a computer.

2. Leads them to identify parts of a speaker.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:  Identify a speaker and the features.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Textbooks

2. Pictures of a speaker.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1. describe a speaker.

2. identify features of a speaker.

WEEK 2

TOPIC:  Drawing of Computer Parts.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to:

1. draw/sketch part of a computer.

2. name and colour the pictures of computer parts.

CONTENT:

1. Drawing of computer parts.

2. Colouring and naming of computers parts.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Provides the pictures of the mouse, printer, keyboard and speakers and guides pupils to draw them.

2. Leads them to colour the picture of computer parts.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Draw parts of a computer.

2. Colour pictures of a computer parts.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Pencil

2. Crayon

3. Paper.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to:

1. draws parts of a computer e.g. speaker.

2. name and colour the picture of computer parts.

WEEK 3

TOPIC: Differences Between a Computer and a Television.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to: state the difference between a computer and a television.

CONTENT:

1. The computer

2. The Television.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

1. Takes pupils to see a computer and a television.

2. Guides them to note the differences between them.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

1. Look at the real computer and a television.

2. Identify what makes them different.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Computer.

2. Television.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: state the differences between a computer and a television.

WEEK 4

TOPIC: Uses of Computer in School

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to: state the uses of computer in school.

CONTENT:

1. Uses of computer:

i. typing of text.

ii. for learning

iii. storing information.

iv. comparing two values in order to rearrange them etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: Leads pupils to know uses of computer in School.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: List the uses of computer in schools.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Computer.

2. Printer.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: mention two uses of computer in school.

WEEK 5

TOPIC:  Uses Of Computer At Home.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to: state three uses of computer at home.

CONTENT: Uses of computer at home.

a. Playing games

b. Watching educational films.

c. Storing and retrieving information etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES: Leads pupils to know the uses of computer at home.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES: States the uses of computer at home.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1. Computer.

2. Learning software

3. Paper

4. Printer.

EVALUATION GUIDE: Pupils to: lists at least three uses of computer at home.

WEEK 6

TOPIC:  Uses Of Computer In The Bank.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE: Pupils should be able to: mention the uses of computer in the bank

CONTENT: Uses of computer in the bank:

a.to transfer money.

b.store information.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Leads pupils to know the uses of computer in the bank.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Listen attentively to their teacher

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Computer

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: list at least two uses of computer in the bank.

WEEK 7

TOPIC:  Uses Of Computer In Hospitals.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: list the uses of computer in the hospital.

CONTENT:  Uses of computer in hospitals:

a.storing names of patients.

b.diagnose the health of patient.

c.save hospital bills date of patients.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Leads pupils to know the uses of computer in the hospital.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

State the uses of computer in the hospital.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Computer.

EVALUATION GUIDE: 

Pupils to: lists two uses of computer in the hospital

WEEK 8

TOPIC: Things Computer Cannot Do.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: state what computer cannot do.

CONTENT:What computer cannot do:

a.cannot think and reason like human.

b.cannot run, eat, or drink water etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Leads pupils to know things computers cannot do.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Say what computers cannot do.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Textbooks.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: State three things computers cannot do.

WEEK 9

TOPIC: Things Produced With a Computer.

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: state things produced with a computer

CONTENT: Things produced with a computer:

a.            drawings.

b.            paintings.

c.             print-out.

d.            books etc.

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Shows pupils things produce with a computer.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Come out in groups of two to examine what the teacher has produce with computer.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS:

1.Print-outs.

2.Books etc.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: name four things produced with a computer.

WEEK 10

TOPIC: People Who Use Computer

PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVE:

Pupils should be able to: name the people who use computer.

CONTENT: people who uses computers:

a.pupils.

b.teachers.

c.bankers.

d.health personnel e.g. doctors.

e.architects

TEACHER ACTIVITIES:

Leads them to know the people who uses computer.

PUPILS ACTIVITIES:

Listen attentively to their teacher.

TEACHING AND LEARNING MATERIALS: Textbooks.

EVALUATION GUIDE:

Pupils to: name any four persons who uses computer.

WEEK 11: REVISION

WEEK 12: EXAMINATION
