Citizenship is the status of a citizen with rights and duties. It is also the right of or state of being a citizen.

QUALIFICATION OF A CITIZEN

  1. Citizen by birth
  2. By application/ registration
  3. By naturalization

RIGHT OF A CITIZEN

The following are right as a citizen

  1. Freedom of speech
  2. Freedom of worship
  3. Freedom of movement

INSTRUCTIONAL PROCEDURE

  • The Teacher revises the previous lesson (MARRIAGE PROBLEMS AND SOLUTION (MARRIAGE FAILURE)).
  • The Teacher introduces the topic (CITIZENSHIP).
  • The Teacher explains the lessons.

LEARNERS ACTIVITIES

  • Learners participate in the class discussion
  • Learners state their place of birth, state and country

EVALUATIVE ACTIVITIES

  • Who is a citizen?
  • How can someone be a citizen?
  • Mention three right of a citizen.

CONCLUSION: the teacher summarize the lesson.
