FIRST TERM PRACTICAL LIFE CURRICULUM
SUBJECT: PRACTICAL LIFE ACTIVITY RECEPTION
TERM ONE
Week 1 & 2
Topic Ground rules- familiarization tour of the school
Objective: To familiarize the child with the school environment.
Lesson: 2 lesson
Materials: The school
Activity: Activity should include rule no I no noise making’ repetition of this over and over again, then the tour of the school.
Evaluation: State rule number one
Week 3 & 4
Topic: Lifting of chairs
Objective: At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to pupil back their chairs without dragging it thereby generating noise.
Lesson: 2 lesson
Material: The furniture in the class
Activity: Teacher should teach the pupil how to pull back their chairs without using sense to make noise by dragging it
Evaluation Should be practical
Week 5 & 6
Topic: Rule number two
Opening and closing of doors & window
Objective: At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to dare the door with caution
Lesson: 2 lesson
Material: The class doors and windows
Activity: This should include opening and closing of door properly- not slaming the doors or windows
Evaluation: Should be practical .
Week 7 & 8
Topic: Opening and closing of food packs and water bottles
Objective: At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to open and close his food pack.
Lesson: 2 lesson
Materials : Should be practical.
Week 9
Topic: Opening
Objective: At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to close the locker correctly.
Lesson 1 lesson
Materials: Pupil’s locker in the classroom
Activity As in previous weeks
Evaluation Should be practical
Week 10
Topic: Saying please
Objective: To teach the pupil to be caution
Lesson 1 lesson
Materials: Pupils
Activity: should include making request and using the word please. E.g.
- Please give me your pencil
- Could you please open the door?
- Please help me to close my zipper
Evaluation: should be practical
