SECOND TERM NEWS AND CONVERSATION CURRICULUM FOR RECEPTION

TERM TWO:

Week 1 & 2

Topic:                    Who is God?

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to say in a short sentence who God is

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Materials:           The Bible a text that contains God’s words)

Activity:               Teacher tell the class who God is in a simple easy – to-follow story. Such that the pupil could generally say that God is the creator of heave and earth

Evaluation:         Who is God?

Week 3 & 4

Topic:                    An Animal (Cat)

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to state what kind of living thing is an annual.

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Material:             Picture of Animal, charts, stand up rubber animals such that of  cat.

Activity:               The pupil should be taught that animals   are living things and that the cat is one of such animal.

Evaluation:         In the evaluation pupil should be able to state that the cat is an animal.

Week 5 & 6

Topic:                    An inset e.g butterfly

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to state that the animal butterfly is an insect.

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Material:             Chart on insects, paper butterfly made with organ paper, naveneet insect pack.

Activity:               As in week 3 & 4 but as is relevant to the topic butterfly

Evaluation:         Evaluation the lesson as in week 3 & 4

Week 7 & 8

Topic :                   My nation Nigeria

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able say in a few sentence the name of the country the capital etc.

Lesson                  2 lessons

Materials             A chart of the Nigeria map

Activity:               Teach the pupil about the nation Nigeria points to consider should include the name and the capital

Evaluation          What is the name of your country?

                                What is the capital of Nigeria?

Week 9 & 10

Topic:                    pets

Objective:           At the end of the lesson pupil should be able to state which category of animals are pets.

Lesson:                 2 lesson

Material              Chart on friendly animals

Activity:               Teaching and explanation should include the fact that some animals are friendly and so they are used as pets e.g cats a dogs rabbit

Evaluation:         Mention 3 pets you know

Week 11:             Revision

Timely test

Examination
